Information about the Survivor Bike

Ed Whittley of Firebird Custom Choppers in Apache Junction thought the world of his
grandmother, Annie Margarite Whittley, and he still does.  Although she passed away several years ago from
breast cancer, Ed thinks of his grandmother every day.  To honor his grandmother and to help other women diagnosed with the disease, Ed built a beautiful custom chopper, the Survivor Bike that will be raffled off to support breast cancer awareness.  The net proceeds of the ticket sales will benefit the Arizona Institute for Breast Health (AIBH).

The Survivor Bike has a pink ribbon gracefully painted on the gas tank that flows down the soft curve
of the bike to the rear fender.  At the base of the fender is Ed’s tribute, a heartfelt expression of Ed’s
love for his grandmother.  The phrase simply reads, “For my Grandmother”.

Ed plans to display the Survivor Bike at various public events starting in October.  Raffle tickets are now available for purchase and will be on sale through April 9, 2006 when the winning ticket is
drawn as part of Arizona Bike Week’s closing ceremony.  Between 1,000 and 5,000 tickets will be sold
at a price of $20 each.  Tickets may be purchased from Ed, his employees, associates and family, the 3
Joetas Leathers locations, the Gypsy Riders Chapter of Women on Wheels, and other selective locations.
